Melipilla: Semana 7

Semana 7! The first week of my second transfer and my seventh week of my training was a great one. We taught many new investigators and continue to progress with our amigos here in Melipilla! Hector and Lorena are doing amazing; Hector has been intently focused on gaining a testimony to see if the Church is right for him and his family. On Friday, Hector called to tell me he just had received his first answer to a prayer. We were so excited for him! Hector was reading the Book of Mormon and decided to truly pray in faith; then his answer came exactly seven minutes later. Hector has been looking for new job and he had gone to this place to try to get a job for three straight days in a row, unsuccessfully. But then on Friday, as he was reading the Book of Mormon he decided to pray for help.  He said it was the first time he had ever prayed with real intent! Seven minutes after Hector offered his prayer, the phone rang and it was the company he had applied to calling to offer him the job. I have never been so happy for someone in my entire life! Our Heavenly Father answers prayers and cares about the details of our lives; I encourage you to pray with real intent and with faith to see what miracles happen! 

WOO, General Conference was incredible... I don't think I can pick a favorite talk; they were all amazing. I just kept thinking about the fact that I had never listened to every word of General Conference before. But I listened to every word this time and I loved it! I did think about my family back home eating my mom's custard french toast and my dad pretending like he is not asleep on the blue couch. As I listened to the messages of hope and happiness, I could feel the Spirit and truthfulness of this Church and restored Gospel on the earth. The Gospel is amazing and brings true, unending happiness in this life and in the life to come! If Elder Holland's opening message right out the gates didn't light your fire, I don't know what will! Love you all! Keep pushing!
