Murray, Kentucky: The Work of the Lord Continues
Well here I am in Murray, Kentucky! I arrived on May 7th and it's been quite the ride. Being home for a month was amazing in so many ways but it made it that much harder to leave again. Walking back into the security line, alone, was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It took all of my faith and courage to just tell myself, "Here we go, let's do this, again!" Well, I stayed in that security line but as soon as I got to the gate they shut the door right in front of me. I missed my flight to Nashville! Alone, on a new flight about an hour later, I reflected on my month at home. It truly was the best month with my family! We were together everyday with nowhere to go. My mom was on Cloud 9! I shared all my stories from Chile and why I love it there so much; I told my family about all my comps, our miraculous baptisms and the Chilean people that changed my life forever. During my month at home my trainer, Elder Staheli, came to visit as well as Elder Thomas, Elder Connolly and Elder Townsend! I loved introducing my comps to my family.
I left my heart in Chile but I am ready to get back to work in the Nashville, Tennessee mission. My first area is actually in Kentucky! I'm serving in Murray, Kentucky adjacent to the Murray State University campus. Did y'all know Ja Morant played for Murray State? They say y'all here every sentence. My comps are Elder Kirkwood and Elder Mecham. We're in a trio and learning how to navigate the new world of Facebook. I have a smartphone for the first time in my mission and it has been incredible to see what we can do with technology! We've been contacting through Facebook, creating content to share and following up with contacts interested in hearing our message. We call random numbers all day and hold Facebook live events. My mom about died when she joined a live event and heard me singing! I'd love y'all to join us for our upcoming Facebook live events! Elder Kirkwood, Elder Mecham and I hold a weekly Bible study on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm (CST): Murray Bible Study on Facebook. On May 24th, there will be another episode of The Highlight put on by our zone at 7 pm (CST): Disciples of Jesus Christ - Paducah, KY on Facebook. Click on the link for last week's episode of The Highlight. My singing debut is the last song of the episode!
The Highlight, Episode 2
Missionary work is very different here in the United States but we have seen miracles and success in this new approach through technology. We've found contacts and teach lessons everyday. It's been quiet being in quarantine and rotating between our house and the chapel! It's a little different than being in quarantine with my family and having the constant noise of my sisters and my mom's cooking. But it's all good! I was excited to finally speak Spanish with a contact on Facebook yesterday; I miss speaking Spanish everyday but I'm still praying in Spanish and studying the language every morning. I have kept my focus on the Book of Mormon and have felt the Spirit as I learn new ways to hear Him! The Book of Mormon is true. Joseph Smith was an inspired prophet and Restoration of the church occurred. These intense Christians here in the South may not know it yet but they will soon! Jesus Christ lives and this is His church. I love y'all!

Elder Zwick
