Murray: Pablo, Michael and Tia
October may be my favorite month yet! As a zone, we have been praying for our friends to be baptized. "Nevertheless Alma labored much in the spirit, wrestling with God in mighty prayer, that he would pour out his Spirit upon the people who were in that city; that he would also grant that he might baptize them unto repentance" (Alma 8:10). Miracles have not ceased; our three friends were baptized in the same week. Pablo was baptized on October 21st; Pablo was referred to us by the sister missionaries in our zone. They did a cold call but then when they realized Pablo only spoke Spanish they passed him along to us. It feels so good to be teaching in Spanish and to pretend I am back in Santiago teaching the humble Chileans. But Pablo is originally from Guatemala, 19 years old and works at the Don Sol restaurant everyday. The Lord has prepared him for this time and I am so excited for Pablo. Another miracle is that Pablo's brother, David, is getting baptized tonight!
Michael is Liz and Scarlett's best friend! Liz and Scarlett were just baptized in August. They have both been incredible new member missionaries helping us share the Gospel with Michael. Michael is going to be a great addition to our group of singles in the Murray area and we hope to start a singles branch for them soon.
Braxton's best friend, Tia, was baptized! Braxton came home from Utah just to baptize her and it was an amazing day. The Spirit was so strong at her baptism and I am grateful for Tia's faith! When she spoke at her baptism Tia said that she knows she is exactly where God needs her to be.
October has been a month to remember! Elder Wilstead and I have felt joy as we have witnessed miracles here together in Murray. "Now was not this exceeding joy? Behold, this is joy which none receiveth save it be the truly penitent and humble seeker of happiness" (Alma 27:18). The key to happiness is to keep finding, teaching and baptizing. November here we come!
